Magento’s parent company eBay has announced that they will shut down a popular part of their Magento e-commerce solution. The “Magento Go” service which is used mainly by small online shops will be shut down on 1st of February 2015. According to the sources the move will affect around 10,000 store owners. Magento is hoping that some of these customers will upgrade to one of their other platforms that are mainly for bigger online shops. Magento has also a deal in place with Bigcommerce, in case some of the current Magento Go would like to move over to that platform instead.
